Brian Eno Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort hopes to send support to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a significant sum for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of talented individuals. The single features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of buildings described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
