Across the extremely cutthroat world of video games, it's common for fresh competitors to disappear as rapidly as they burst on to the stage.
Yet this new installment is aiming to shift that dynamic.
Here comes the most recent addition in a long-standing combat FPS series often described as a more authentic response to its main competitor.
This game has seldom managed to match its top opponent in terms of revenue or gamers, but evidence points to the latest version could close the gap.
A trial event enabling gamers a chance to experience the title not long ago set new benchmarks, and the excitement approaching its debut has been huge.
However the project is nevertheless a significant risk for company Electronic Arts, which has according to sources allocated vast amounts of money producing it.
Our team has communicated to some of the makers to learn how they expect it will succeed.
Several studios were developing the title under the unified development banner.
Among them are veteran developer the Swedish studio, headquartered in Scandinavia, LA's Motive team and Ripple Effect in the Great White North.
The fourth, Criterion, is based in England.

"We most likely would not be able to build and design Battlefield 6 lacking the learnings we had in the last release," Rebecka tells us.

As for the anticipation on the team, Fas states: "There is demand but also it's motivating.
"We're dealing with a big undertaking. It's likely the biggest that many of us have previously worked on."
