Los Angeles and Seattle (both at 7-2) seem like the most balanced franchises in the NFL, and delivered decisive victories on Sunday. The 6-2 Eagles even with their challenges maintain one of the most talented rosters across the NFL, likewise with the Packers (5-2-1). Detroit as well (six and three), with their fluctuating form on offense and defense while managing tension on their coaching staff, have demonstrated they can defeat strong franchises. AFC Confusion

Over in the AFC, postseason landscape is thoroughly confusing. The four teams leading their divisions at this stage: the Colts, Patriots, Broncos (all at 8-2) and Steelers (5-4). Take another look. Kansas City isn't there. Not the Bills. Neither Ravens nor Bengals. The traditional powers, backed by the league’s best quarterbacks, display either obvious team deficiencies or have been hit by injuries.

Denver Analysis

Denver stands at 8–2 as well, and it still feels as if they’re holding their breath. The Denver signal-caller has been erratic, with the attack struggling, with the defense doing all the heavy lifting. Absent adequate signal-calling, Denver cannot intimidate anyone in the postseason. The Chargers are also hovering in the Western division holding a 7-2 record, but the injuries within their blocking corps will create difficulties for extended playoff success.

Pittsburgh Situation

Then we have the Steelers, inexplicably frontrunning the AFC North despite being thumped 25-10 by the Chargers in the evening game. Their scoring margin remains negative, their defense regularly vanishes, with their quarterback's restrictions at this stage of his career regularly manifest. They maintain a 5-4 record while surviving, but Baltimore, featuring a recovered Jackson with manageable games ahead, are on a three-game win streak. We shouldn't be completely astonished that the Ravens have narrowed within a game of the Steelers, but how rapidly this occurred highlights deficiencies within the Steelers' uneven performances. The fact Baltimore began with a 1-5 record and still look like capable of division victory speaks volumes regarding the complete conference.

Established Contenders

The Ravens represent a segment among three elite teams – alongside the Bills and Chiefs – fueled by former MVP signal-callers, who could still create the highest anxiety in opposing teams if they qualified. They're the teams everyone hopes to avoid, but the Chiefs and Bills continue to self-destruct.

Buffalo Analysis

Previously, the Bills felt confident post Chiefs triumph. On Sunday they suffered among the season's worst defeats this year. They didn't merely fall to the Dolphins; they suffered humiliation, losing 30-13 as visitors. This represented Miami's initial victory versus Buffalo in over three years.
