Mohamed Salah Extends Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.

The striker was dropped from a European match after making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”

The manager has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.

Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

The team's performance have remained strong in the games following the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
