The acclaimed actor has given his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and commends ex- government figure RFK Jr.
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for assertions that Covid was a result of a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's co-author, a producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone figure a known commentator. The producer took to social media celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.
Representatives for Liam Neeson have released a response firmly refuting implications that he holds anti-vax beliefs.
"Many acknowledge that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson is not, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
It continued that the actor did not shape the project's messaging and that inquiries about its content are best addressed to the creators.
In the film, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several controversial points:
The film also references a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.
Last month, Kennedy directed the national health agency to revise its official position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.
Differing from the film's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
