Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a six-year deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is progressing well, raising possibility that the Real Madrid right-back may be fit soon enough to play against his previous club Liverpool in November's European match.

The 27-year-old international sustained a hamstring problem during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the fifth minute, with early reports suggesting a possible absence of up to six weeks.

Real Madrid will travel to play at Liverpool on November 4 for the European match—just over a month after the incident occurred.

Sources close to the player's condition state that the defender's comeback is progressing positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold may make his first comeback to Anfield after signing for Los Blancos in the summer.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that leaving the club he entered as a young youth talent was the "most difficult decision he's ever made."

During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 appearances, helping win multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has featured five times across all competitions, logging 156 minutes of game time.
