Both young individuals who lost their lives in Saturday’s tragic incident at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their shooter continued following the release by local law enforcement of the sole person questioned in the case.
The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.
Her role included the vice-presidency of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also posted condolences on social media, saying in part: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”
The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, from Uzbekistan in his initial year at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.
The victim's identification was confirmed by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.
