Uche Ignites Dominant Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season were outmatched against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

Control Established from the Outset

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.

Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the official waved away the protests.

The formerArsenal man didn't need to wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's effort had hit the post.

The home side were clinging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Game

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
