Ukraine's President Claims Russia's Leader Initiated Dialogue After Tomahawk Discussions

Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during his visit to the US capital that the Russian president's decision to request talks with the US president demonstrates the Kremlin is on the defensive. He remarked, "We can already see that Moscow is rushing to restart dialogue as soon as it hears about Tomahawks." These remarks addressed recent musings about supplying advanced weapons to the Ukrainian military.

Diplomatic Moves and International Reactions

A former American diplomat, a foreign policy expert, observed, "The Russian leader is attempting to derail the momentum toward increased sanctions on the Kremlin." He added, "The outcome will become clear on Friday, but the likelihood of achieving a truce by pushing Russia to get serious appear to have decreased."
