Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.

Local authorities said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack made him without words and required to be addressed promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
